Gigi Hadid x Reebok Women Celebrate #PerfectNever In NYC

Last Wednesday, the Finish Line team joined Reebok and Gigi Hadid in NYC to celebrate the #PerfectNever revolution.

Perfect Never, which is about challenging the notion of perfection, aligns closely with Finish Line’s #WeAreMore campaign – drawing parallels between outside labels and being more than meets the eye.

Gigi Hadid, former volleyball player and equestrian turned supermodel, shared her story on how she aims to empower women through Reebok’s campaign. “Everyone always calls me perfect and I’m just not, I’m like everyone else.”

This star-studded event took attendees through a cardio-boxing class with Gigi’s trainer from Gotham Gym and featured a panel discussion focused around issues that effect young women today. The panel’s line up included many familiar faces — Lena Dunham, Ruby RoseZoe KravitzAly Raisman & Jessica Mendoza— all rockin’ the latest looks from Reebok women.

We were able to sit down with Gigi to answer a few questions:

Between all of the things you’re doing – how do you balance it all?

It feels like sometimes you don’t have time to deal with anything. You’re always going…Being a busy person and friendships and relationships and making sure you’re calling your family and the pressures of work — that’s when it gets stressful.

“What’s helped me is taking time to talk to people — like talk it out. My friends come into play a lot. I can just call them and get the reassurance I need, that really really helps me. I use a lot of facetime and phone calls.

A while ago, one of your social media posts went viral because you were talking about how the “look” of a fashion model has changed. Can you talk about that?

It’s frustrating…coming into fashion, like I said earlier, I found other things that I loved about myself other than how I looked. Everyone related to that post – and that’s the problem. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, what you do… there is always negativity.

And so for me that was almost like you know what? I just want to let you guys know that you can judge me, but I’m good with who I am and what I am.

What mark do you want to leave?

I want to be known as nice and hardworking.

I want girls to know how important it is to just be cool —to not take yourself too seriously and not get too cocky because moves on quickly. It’s the nice girls that are sticking around.

The day was filled with inspiring messages about being yourself and uplifting others. And, of course, we can’t help but mention the abundance of cute clothes and sneakers. 🙂
