Air Jordan Retro 9 “Anthracite”
The Air Jordan 9 doesn’t get enough love or recognition as much as other Air Jordan models. Maybe it’s because he never won a Championship in them, or he never posterized someone trying to guard them. The Air Jordan 9 is inspired by Jordan’s days of playing baseball, and Japanese design influence. Tinker is quoted saying that the Air Jordan 9 “represented the globalization of the Jordan brand name” since everyone around the world wanted to be like Mike. In 2012 JB gave sneakerheads a collection of Retro 9s that were named The “Kilroy” Pack, which consisted of all the colorways related to the fictional MJ characters derived during his first return. We’ve also seen a collection of Oregon player exclusives of the Retro 9 that were just for the Oregon Football team.
There’s something about all-black kicks that people love. Maybe it’s the fact that they don’t get dirty so easily, or that they can match up with almost any outfit. Whatever your reasoning is the Air Jordan Retro 9 “Anthracite” is one of the cleanest kicks to drop this fall. The all-black construction with subtle white stitching and white lace loops pair together so well that it’s hard to find a reason to not like these. They are nearly identical to the Oregon PE with the only difference being that there is no “O” on the back of the heel. If you could never get your hands on the Oregon PE then these are perfect for you and the fall season. You can never have too many all-black kicks so make sure you grab the Air Jordan Retro 9 “Anthracite” on September 12th at Finishline.com.
