One of adidas’ major strengths is its ability to sift through its expansive arsenal and re-work a number of its illustrious silhouettes. The Three Stripes is set to do this once again by taking the OG Continental sneaker and giving it a modern upgrade and a new name, the adidas Continental 80. At a quick glance, this new model bears a striking resemblance to the adidas Yeezy Powerphase that has been released in three unique color schemes, but rest assured that this is indeed an OG shoe. One pair comes dressed in White and the other in Black. Both are constructed with leather uppers, perforated detailing and Navy and Red contrasting accents. adidas’s trefoil logo appears on each lateral side, heels and tongues. Embellishments are kept minimal with a thin red and navy ribbon stripe across the side panel, slightly perforated detailing near the mudguard and toe, and adidas branding next to the laces, at the tongue tab and heel counter.
adidas is teaming up with Parley again and creating another dope collection that is unlike anything else in footwear. Last year, adidas made the announcement that they would be making sneakers from recycled waste that is found in the oceans. Yes, you read that correctly; these sneakers would be made from bottles that are found in the sea. Mind blown, right? The collaboration between the two companies was started to make people rethink design and help stop ocean plastic pollution. Last years collection was a hit and sold out so quickly that most sneakerheads didn’t even know they had released. Now, the two companies are breaking out their fifth collection of sneakers and this years features a brand new model. This time around, it’s the recently unveiled UltraBOOST Clima LTD, constructed with Parley’s signature recycled materials in a familiar white/light ocean blue colorway that’s appeared on many a prior Parley release. The shoe’s white heel cage features a unique light blue stitched design, and the summer-ready sneaker is rounded off with the Ultra Boost’s trademark full-length Boost midsole and Continental rubber outsole.
