Originally released in ’82, Nike has never had to spend much in marketing on the Air Force One. With Jay-Z and Dame Dash having placed the model back amongst the consciousness of the youth at the height of the Roc-A-Fella reign, Nelly took things one step further in dedicating an entire anthem to his love for Uptowns that just happened to coincide with the sneaker’s 20th anniversary. With the single making it to No. 3 on Billboard’s Top 100, the Air Force One would outsell Air Jordan’s 15,000,000 to 250,000 that year.
