Nike’s first track shoe was released in ’72 and helped jump-start the brand. With it’s bold colors and right-to-the-point design, the sneaker became of favorite of one Eric Wright, better known as Eazy-E. The Compton rapper can be seen rocking the Cortez in numerous videos from N.W.A.’s heyday. Over four decades later, the Cortez is still in production and remains a staple on the streets of Los Angeles.
