10 of the Most Shocking NFL Draft Picks

8. Tyson Alualu

Team: Jacksonville Jaguars
Position: Defensive End
Year: 2010
Round: 1st, 10th OVR

Tyson Alualu was a solid defensive player out of Cal. He had played in every game of his four year college career, but didn’t post huge numbers in those four years. He had made the Pac-1p All-American 2nd team his junior year and the 1st team his senior year. He had participated in the Pac-10 Senior Bowl, but those were the only collegiate honors he had when he was taken in a very bold move, 10th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Alualu was projected to go late in the first round, but Jacksonville must have seen something in him because they passed up much bigger names in Earl Thomas, Dez Bryant and Rob Gronkowski.
